It's Starting!

Last Friday Jade and I went to our pre-construction meeting. We got to pick out so many different things for our new house. We picked out granite, tile, cabinets, doors, carpet, molding, paint, stone, stucco color, etc. It was so fun to pick everything out! I was able to find pictures of our granite, cabinets, and tile we picked out online. They should begin building after Thanksgiving! We are really excited to see it all begin.

A New Home!

About a week ago we were pre-approved to purchase our first house! It is such a good time to buy a home right now in St. George. We have decided to build our own home from the ground up through a company called Ence homes. It is a 4 bedroom/2 bathroom house. We get to go to the design center in a couple of weeks and customize all the colors and little details ourselves. The community is called Treasure Valley. It is a nice and quiet beautiful neighborhood. If all goes as planned we should be in our new home sometime in February. We are so excited to begin this new journey!

So next week is already the 4th week of school! I have a feeling that this school year is going to fly by! I have a really cute class. 22 kids right now, but that will probably change throughout the year. Sometimes I have to remind myself that they are pretty much still Kindergartners and that I really am expecting a lot from them. I love my team and work at a great school so I am very thankful for that!

Jade started school last Tuesday. He goes to his first practicum day on Wednesday. He is in a first grade classroom one day a week at another school. I'm sure he will enjoy that ;).

Jeter turns 1 year old on Wednesday! I can't believe we have already had him for almost a year. He is our little baby. Happy Birthday Jeter! :)

Back To School

It seems no matter what you do with your summer, it always goes by too fast. At the end of June we flew out to Ohio for my brother's wedding. We all stayed in cabins out in the woods (something I am not use to), but it was fun to spend time with family that I haven't seen in years!

About a week after we arrived home we left again for Wyoming. We spent the 4th of July shooting off fireworks in Wyoming bundled up in sweaters and blankets. How I don't miss the freezing weather there all year round! A week later we came back to St. George to the comfort of air conditioning. Soon after, I picked up my key to my classroom and began the madness. Two weeks later I can finally tell that I have made much progress and I feel like I am almost ready to start a new year. I am sad that summer is over and I am no longer able to sleep in and that I can no longer be lazy, but I am ready to go back. I am excited for a new year with a new group of kids.

As for Jade he starts school at the end of August so he gets to soak up a few more weeks of lying around the house with Jeter all day. He is 1 out of 2 guys in a cohort of like 40 girls so I wish him the best of luck to get through these next two years without going insane!

I have been done with my first year of teaching for almost a month now. It's weird going from running around non-stop with 20 1st graders to hanging out at home every day. We have been doing a lot of sleeping in, watching T.V., visiting the exciting stores in St. George (lol), and taking Jeter for lot's of walks. Jade and I are looking forward to our trip to Ohio in about a week for my brothers wedding. It will be fun to see family that I haven't seen in years!

Last week was my 23rd Birthday so my mom and dad came down to celebrate it with us. It was fun to have them here. Jeter enjoyed the extra attention as well.

Although I finished school in December, graduation wasn't until May 7th. It was so nice to finally celebrate being done with school.

Life Lately

Life has been BUSY! Jade is doing great in school. He recently got accepted to the Elementary Ed. Program at Dixie and will be starting in August. I am finishing up my first SEP conferences. They have gone really well. I have many involved and supportive parents so that is a big plus. I am really enjoying my class and am looking forward to seeing how much they grow academically throughout the rest of the year. After a full day of teaching I come home and just relax. It takes more energy than you ever thought you had to teach 1st grade! Now I really understand how you have felt all these years Mom! I love it though and am so thankful I had this opportunity come my way. In case you haven't seen enough of him, there are more pictures of our little Jeter below. :)

Life has been BUSY lately. In the last month I have had kidney stones, graduated college, moved to a new town home, got a new puppy, went home for the holidays, and accepted a job as a 1st grade teacher in St. George. The last few weeks have been full of preparing for my new classroom. There is so much that goes into getting your room ready, especially with only a few weeks to do it. I wouldn't be ready for this new adventure if it weren't for all the help from my family, especially my mom. I am so excited to finally have my own class and to put into practice what I have been working towards for so long.

On December 12th, Jade finally talked me into getting a puppy. We have wanted one for so long but the place we are currently living in won't let you have dogs so therefore not only does getting a new puppy come along with waking up in the middle of the night, getting up early in the morning and trying to potty train but also includes moving! Jade has assured me he will take care of most of the moving while I am at school this week. I am sure that it is going to be a crazy week but we are so excited to have him as a part of our little family.

So things have been a little crazy lately. While trying to finish up the last two weeks of my student teaching I woke up one morning and took an unexpected trip to the emergency room, only to find out that I had not one, but 3 kidney stones on my right side. I spent the week of Thanksgiving lying around on pain meds hoping for the darn things to pass but in the end I am scheduled for surgery this coming Tuesday to have them removed. Instead of going home for Thanksgiving my parents ended up making the trip down here to spend our first Thanksgiving in St. George. I am happy they were able to come and I really enjoyed them taking care of me for those few days. On another note our beloved hamster Kendrick died on Thanksgiving :( We miss him very much and swear that we can still hear him in the laundry room sometimes. I am currently feeling a little better and will finish my last few days of student teaching before Christmas break. I have had a wonderful time with my 2nd grade class and I am going to miss them so much. I look forward to hopefully finding some sort of teaching position for the remainder of the year. Hope all is going well with everyone and I look forward to seeing you all over Christmas!

Last weekend Jade and I went to our first show in Las Vegas. Criss Angel Believe! It was so AMAZING! We have been watching his show MindFreak on A&E for the last few years and we finally spent the money to go see his show. I am so glad that we went, it was the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life! I love Criss Angel! :)

Here are some of the Cirque De Soleil characters that were part of the show. They did some really awesome dances!

After the show we spent the rest of the weekend with my sister in-law Ashlee, her husband Elliott, and their two boys Gavin and Grady. Gavin and Jade are so cute together. They both love each other so much :) We always love staying with Ashlee and her family, they are the best!

Our Trip to Yellowstone

At the beginning of August Jade and I decided to go home for a few weeks before school started. We actually stayed pretty busy while we were there. The first week we were home my Dad's side of the family came up to visit and we all took a trip to Yellowstone. Im pretty sure we saw everything there was to see, and it was a lot of fun once I stopped worrying about being attacked by a bear. Here are some pictures of our trip.

Cocoa Beach

We went with Craig and Deann to Cocoa Beach. Craig was reluctant in going because he was afraid of getting a sun burn, but he and Jade ended up having a great time on their boogie boards.

We actually got to see the space shuttle launch from Kennedy Space Center while we were on this beach. It was an awesome experience and I will try to get it uploaded on here from our video camera.

One day while we were in Florida we went with my parents to the best beach! The water was so warm and the sand was pure white.

Friday was my 22nd Birthday. I spent the day shopping with my mother and sister in law. Later that evening we all went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and had an ice cream cake from coldstone! It was such a great Birthday! Thank you everyone!

On Saturday Brook brought my nieces over to go swimming in our pool. The water was a bit chilly, but I think that they had a good time.

Saturday was our one year wedding anniversary. We decided to stay at a hotel Friday night. When we arrived Jade surprised me with rose petals all over the room and a single rose to mark our 1st year together being married, he is so sweet. We went swimming at the hotel pool, went out to eat and saw Angels & Demons in the theater. It was a great Anniversary and I couldn't be married to a better guy.

On Saturday May 16th, Jade and I will have been married for one year! I can't believe how fast our first year of being married has flown by. I couldn't be any happier than I am now. I am so thankful for such a loving husband who makes me feel special each and every day. I love him more than he will ever know and I feel so lucky to have my best friend by my side every step of the way. I love you Jade! :)

It has been crazy the last couple of weeks. I have had my fair share of doctors appointments in the last month. I ended up getting tubes in my ears last Friday. I have a problem with my ears known as eustachian tube dysfunction. Which basically means that my ears don't equalize pressure properly which causes them to always be plugged, makes it painful to travel, and has caused me multiple sinus infections. I am hoping that the tubes will solve the problem and my ears will be able to feel normal again. A few days before my surgery Jade was laid off from work again! It frustrates me that they laid him off, asked him to come back, and then laid him off again. He is currently in the process of trying to find a new job that will hopefully be more stable than his previous one. My parents came down over Presidents Day weekend and we spent our time going to the parade of homes. There were some really nice houses. What it would be like, right? I guess I will just have to keep dreaming. School is going well. I am getting anxious for the semester to be over, then all that's left is student teaching! That's all the news I have for now. Our New Edition!

After months of Jade begging me to let him get a new truck,

I finally gave in! His old car was beginning to give us more

problems than we wanted to deal with, so we figured instead

of putting more money into something that wasn't worth it

anymore we would trade it in and get something better. After

looking hard for only a couple of days Jade found his perfect truck!

It is a 2005 Nissan Frontier with some nice upgrades.

He is so excited, which makes me happy. We are looking

forward to all the fun we will have with our new truck!

I know I haven't posted anything for awhile, but it has been a busy month! Where to even begin? Jade and I finished school the second week of December. We both did really well this semester so we are proud of ourselves. Before heading home for Christmas Jade's family made the trip to St. George to be here for a special day for Jade and I. I was baptized on December 20th. I know that many people have not yet heard the news, but I just want everyone to know that this is something I have been thinking about for years and it finally felt like the right thing for me to do. Jade and I are enjoying our ward and we feel like we are on the right path to a happy life together. We spent the week of Christmas mostly with Jade's family since we spent Thanksgiving with my parents. We had such a great time being with all our family and we love them all so much! Jade and I were spoiled this year, we got a blue ray player, a video camera, and money which turned into buying a Wii! We have really enjoyed all of our new toys. I am now preparing myself for another semester of school. The crazy thing is, is that I am finally a Senior in College! I can't believe I am almost done! I will post some Christmas pictures later, but for now Happy New Year!!

Jade and I went home for Thanksgiving. It was so nice to be with family for

a few days. We stayed with my parents most of the time and played cards

and board games like crazy. The last day we were there we stayed with Jade's

parents. His dad got a Wii for Christmas but Jade talked him into "testing" it

out early, so we played it all day long! It was so much fun. I got a 245 on the

bowling game! It was so cold there that we were happy to come back to

St. George. I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving

and I can't wait until Christmas!

Ok, so I know it is way too early to be putting up a

Christmas tree, but I just couldn't help myself.

Now that I am finally married and we have our

own place I just couldn't wait any longer. I made

Jade go to Tai Pan with me today and we got

everything we needed for our new tree. It is

so beautiful, I love it!

Trip to Zion

My parents came to visit this weekend. We saw Big River at Tuacahn on

Friday and then went to Zion on Saturday. Zion was beautiful, it is a

perfect time of year to go visit the park. We spent the rest of our time

shopping around St. George and playing cards. It was great to see my

parents, it seems that time always goes by too fast when family is visiting.

Jade received a call from his boss last Thursday

telling him that he was going to be let go

from work. He has worked at GreenValley

for three years, but because of the terrible

economy there is just no more work. At the time

we were both disappointed, but we are being optimistic

and hoping that he will be able to go back soon once

the economy starts to improve. In the mean time

Jade is looking for something else until he can go back to

Green Valley or find another decent job. My wonderful

sister in-law Ashlee is here visiting this week and she

went to Wal-Mart and bought us some food! We are

so thankful for such an amazing family. I don't know

what we would do without them!

we had to get a hamster instead. His name is Kendrick

and he will be a year old in December. He can be loud at

night seeing how Hamsters are nocturnal. (We didn't

know that until we got him home, haha!) We love

him anyways!

Jade and I went to California for our honeymoon in August.

We went to Newport Beach a couple times while we were there

and rented bodyboards. Believe it or not I did it!

It was a lot of fun until I got taken out by some big waves.

I spent the rest of the time lying on the beach while Jade

toughed out the waves.
